Paul Gregory Media Becomes Certified B Corporation

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

July 27, 2020 Naperville, IL – Naperville’s Paul Gregory Media (“PGM”) is thrilled to announce that they have received their B Corporation certification, joining a list of only 3,422 companies across 71 countries worldwide that have achieved such certification, which in simple terms, means the business is used as a force for good. As a marketing agency created with empathy at its core, PGM has always aimed to balance people and planet over profit, consistently supporting nonprofit and purpose-driven organizations, which is what makes this certification both special and appropriate.

PGM’s journey to achieve B-Corp certification began in November 2019, when owner Paul Feith completed an in-depth Impact Assessment covering five key areas: Governance, Customers, Workers, Environment and Community. Based on the assessment, they were awarded an overall score based on a range of things, from their high-level vision, mission, and business ambitions to employee diversity, energy use, and even…..the way they clean the office kitchen! Companies who score more than 80 points (out of 200) are officially certified and, to ensure commitment, must be recertified every three years. For a bit of context, Patagonia, the mothership B Corp, has 151.5 points, while Toms comes in at 96.3, and Alpro has 87. With a score of 83.5, PGM is proud to be on the right track, but are looking forward to improving.

Owner Feith states, “Going through this whole process has been extremely valuable. It’s forced us to reflect on where we are in terms of social and environmental impact, and ask ourselves: How can we do better? And yes, we have a long way to go, but as we know from our creative community, starting is often the hardest part. I’m proud of the work we’re doing and eager to keep moving forward. I’m thrilled PGM will join a network of like-minded organizations using the power of business to address our greatest challenges.”

The next steps Feith is planning in order to maintain and improve PGM’s B-Corp certification include becoming carbon neutral, setting more ambitious goals, and choosing the right partners. For more information, or to view PGM’s Assessment Report, please see their journey on their website.
